Welding Parameters

We regularly refer to WPS and PQR related to the type of job so as to ascertain proper use of welding parameters and compatible electrodes/ filler wires. Welding procedure is periodically examined either spot or full depending on the design data through radiography. Welders used on job are qualified as per ASME Section IX and are well versed with welding processes like GTAW (TIG) and SMAW.

Various quality measures undertaken by quality inspectors during welding process comprises of:

  • Butt welds welded by SMAW are subjected to backside welding after back chipping and LP testing the weld from root side
  • Root runs of SS butt welds welded by GTAW are given inert gas (nitrogen) purging is from backside to avoid oxidation
  • Run-on, Run-off tabs are fitted before long seam welding
  • Inter pass cleaning is conducted by removing slag by chipping and cleaning with wire brush
  • Inter pass temperature of stainless steel (max.) is 150 degree Celsius and of carbon steel is 250 degree Celsius
  • We conduct stage wise inspection after fit up, after root run and after complete welding to offer qualitative products. In order to make our products more authentic and satisfy our clients, we also subject our manufactured industrial process equipment to third party inspection.
